SCREENWRITING WORKSHOP

The Film Nomad Screenwriting Workshop is a five week-long on-site and online training for Mongolian filmmakers, led by international experts in the field. This workshop is designed to provide Mongolian filmmakers with the skills and knowledge need to develop compelling screenplays that can captivate audiences around the world.

 

The online sessions will provide will provide lectures and exercises to help the participants refine their screenwriting skills. Filmmakers will have the opportunity to interact with our experts and fellow participants, receive feedback on their writing.

 

Upon completion of 4 weeks online sessions, participants will submit a film synopsis and treatment for a project with a director and producer attached on August 28, 2023.

 

The on-site portion of the workshop, which will take place over the course of a week in Ulaanbaatar from September 4-8, 2023,  will provide the participants hands-on exercises, receive feedback on their writing, and have the opportunity to network with other filmmakers in the Mongolian film industry.

 

 

PROJECT DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

Online: August 1-22, 2023

 

Onsite: September 11-15, 2023  

 

Film Nomad film project development workshop for Mongolian filmmakers is designed to provide the filmmakers with the skills and knowledge they need to develop compelling and engaging film projects.  

 

The workshop will be held both online and onsite, allowing to participate from anywhere in Mongolia. Our international experts will share their experiences and insights from working on successful film projects, providing the filmmakers with practical tips and advice on how to succeed in the industry.  

 

The online component of the workshop will takes place from August 1-22, 2023 and consist of a series of live webinars and pre-recorded lectures, which the filmmakers can access from the comfort of the their own home or office. During these sessions, the filmmakers will have the opportunity to interact with international experts, ask questions, and receive feedback on the their projects. Up 10 projects will be selected for the onsite program. 

 

The onsite component of the workshop will take place for a week in Ulaanbaatar from September 11-15, 2023, where the filmmakers will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on exercises and receive feedback on the their ideas from international experts. 

 

Throughout the workshop, the filmmakers will learn about the key elements of film project development, including the development of strong story concepts, creating a unique visual style, and building a strong team to bring the story to life. At the end of the workshop, the filmmakers will have a clear understanding of the film project development process and the tools and knowledge the filmmakers need to take the their projects to the next level. 

 

 

FILM NOMAD FILM FORUM 

Onsite: September 25-26, 2023  

Film Nomad Film Forum, a platform created to support and promote the Mongolian film industry will be held on September 25-26, 2023. As a forum the main goal is to provide opportunities for Mongolian filmmakers to connect with the global film community and to learn about the various international film funds available to them.  

 

The forum will present representatives from some of the most prestigious international film funds, who will be sharing information about their eligibility criteria, application processes, and funding opportunities. This is a unique opportunity for Mongolian filmmakers to gain insight into the global film industry and to learn how they can access funding to bring their cinematic visions to life.  

 

The forum will serve as a valuable resource for Mongolian filmmakers and that it will inspire new collaborations and partnerships between Mongolian filmmakers and the global film industry. 

FILM NOMAD PITCHING

Onsite: September 28-29, 2023

Film Nomad Pitching of  selected Mongolian film projects to international film fund professionals on a train ride to the Gobi energy center of Mongolia is an exciting opportunity for these filmmakers to showcase their unique ideas and perspectives to industry professionals.  

 

To make the most of this opportunity, the filmmakers will prepare a strong pitch that highlights the unique aspects of their projects using skills and knowledge they gained through the workshops. This could include a synopsis of the story, the themes explored, and the cultural A film development program for Mongolian filmmakers significance of the film. They should also be prepared to discuss the budget, production timeline, and any notable talent attached to the project.  

 

The train ride equipped with a screen and sound provides a perfect opportunity for the participants to screen their short films. This would be a great way to showcase their skills and vision to the international film fund professionals. The filmmakers ensure that the short films are of high quality and that they represent the best of Mongolian cinema.  

 

During the train ride, the filmmakers should take advantage of the unique setting and use it to their advantage. The stunning landscapes and unique experiences of traveling through Mongolia could be incorporated into their pitches or even serve as the backdrop for their film projects.
